“Tigers, elephants and even dancing dogs were on display at the Ringling Brothers Circus Xtreme the other night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Marionel, Bruce, Junior, Fr. Paul and I made it through the freezing winter cold to see this event. “It was soo awesome!” said Marionel at the conclusion of the show. He was really tense during the tiger act. “There were 10 tigers in a cage with the trainer and it looked like they were going to attack him at one point,” he said. According to Junior, his favorite part was the BMX bike tricks near the end of the show. “I was really impressed with their flips on the half-pipe,” he said. Bruce said the stage was so crowded at times that some stunts went unnoticed. “There was a guy who swallowed a sword and no one even saw it,” he said. The small things are what made the show really good.
After the show, we all ate dinner at Shake Shack across the street. The circus was far better than we expected. For Marionel, who spends most of his time playing video games at home, it was great to see him so full of excitement and enthusiasm for something other than video games. It was nice to witness Bruce and Junior’s attention to detail and their appreciation of the performers’ hard work to make something beautiful. It was great to see expressions of joy on each of their faces, especially from the stunts that went unnoticed. This taught me how to appreciate the small things in life which may go unnoticed but are always seen and appreciated by God. It was definitely a memorable night we won’t forget.”
