The fascinating charism of Heart’s Home, by Archbishop Pelvi (Italy).

Here is the mes­sage the Archbishop Vincenzo Pelvi adressed in 2008 to Heart’s Home for the cel­e­bra­tion of our 10-year pres­ence in Italy.

Dear Friends of Heart’s Home,

I wish I could have praised Lord with you, but a trag­ical air­craft acci­dent causing the death of 8 young mil­i­taries pre­vents me from being phys­i­cally pre­sent among you. I can how­ever join you spir­i­tu­ally and fra­ter­nally through your Thanks Prayer for all the mar­vels you have been spreading for ten years in Afragola (Italy).
Heart’s Home bears a fas­ci­nating charism, open to the young people who have a deep desire to learn from the smallest and who are able to offer a tes­ti­mony of love, ready to cast away the daily con­ve­niences to live with the chil­dren in dif­fi­cul­ties. They are enthu­si­astic souls who lead with con­vic­tion a per­ma­nent prayer life within a com­mu­nity based on for­give­ness and mutual love.
Thanks dearest friends because you love God with your whole heart. The secret to regen­erate your hearts is pre­cisely this friend­ship with Jesus. God does not steal your heart, He mul­ti­plies it. Thus, in your everyday life you know that every­thing, every ges­ture, every sit­u­a­tion is valu­able. Your Mission frees itself from selfish­ness, it revi­tal­izes each tired­ness and brings serenity. Be the meeting point for divine charity in the midst of these thou­sands human trou­bles.

In this joyful cel­e­bra­tion, in the name of the Redumptor, I encourage you once again to love with all your heart the smallest among the small with the enthu­siasm inherent to the entire gift of one­self, until the end. Into your hearts live the love poured out from the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5) per­fect, there­fore, as the heav­enly Father is per­fect (Matthew 5:48) in the com­pas­sion and full of ten­der­ness.

I ask you to invoke the Mother of the Rosary, the Queen of peace, for these mil­i­taries and their fam­i­lies as well as for all those who offer their lives in accom­plishing their duty.
