Sr Mariana Canteros had a part time mission in the office. She was in charge of the interns and of the follow-up of the American volunteers’ sponsors. She was also very involved in the activities in the neighborhood: she visited our isolated neighbors, and went twice a week to visit the residents of a nearby nursing-home. She met Heart’s Home in 1994 and went as a missionary to Brazil, where she stayed for almost three years. In 1997, she joined the community of the Servants of God’s Presence in France, where she attended a four-year program in Philosophy and Theology. She was then sent back to South America, in Peru, where she led the community of the Servants of God’s Presence for six years. Until October 2009, she was also the Visitor of the Heart’s Home community in Ecuador. She joined Heart’s Home USA in January 2008 and left in January 2011 to help with the foundation of a new Heart’s Home Center in Buenos Aires.
