In New York, Heart’s Home USA seeks to positively impact culture by nurturing a discourse linking contemporary issues with the human experience. That is the goal of this roundtable discussion on business and compassion. We want to address what appears to be one of the major flaws of our contemporary culture: that our economy lost sight of the human element. The financial crisis that began in 2008 calls for a discourse on the human aspect of economy, as well as to new and creative ways to sensitize people and organize society. Our wish is to address this gap and the possible ways to bridge it through both fundamental reflection and actual experiences.
The first portion of the two-hour conference will consist of individual addresses from each panelist on the topic of business and compassion. The second portion will be in the format of an open discussion, with the panelists taking questions from the audience.
