Our founder, Rev. Thierry de Roucy, was 18 when he en­tered in 1975 the re­li­gious con­gre­ga­tion of the Servants of Jesus and Mary lo­cat­ed in Ourscamp, France. He re­ceived his bach­e­lor and mas­ter of Philosophy from the french Institute of Comparative Philosophy ("Institut de Philosophie Comparee") in Paris, and holds a Master of Theology from “the Angelicum”, the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Rome.

He was or­dained priest in 1983, and was the Superior General of his con­gre­ga­tion from 1988 to 2001. His elec­tion as Superior General pre­vent­ed him from com­plet­ing his PhD in phi­los­o­phy and the­ol­o­gy, which he had start­ed at the Pontifical University in Rome.

In 1990, as he was pray­ing the Rosary along with his com­mu­ni­ty, he re­ceived the in­tu­ition to start Heart’s Home. In 1995, he found­ed the Molokai Fraternity - for per­ma­nent mem­bers of Heart’s Home, priests and lay con­se­crat­ed - and the Servants of God’s Presence, a con­gre­ga­tion of re­li­gious sis­ters af­fil­i­at­ed to Heart’s Home.

Since 1990, he has worked as chair­man of Heart’s Home and estab­lished 35 Missionary hous­es and 2 Heart’s Home vil­lages in 20 coun­tries.

Rev. Thierry de Roucy to­day shares his time be­tween the International Center for a Culture of Compassion (ICCC), in Woodbourne, NY and his trav­el­ling around the world to vis­it the Heart’s Homes. As the au­thor of nu­mer­ous re­flex­ions and teach­ings, he is al­so led to par­tic­i­pate in con­fer­ences and to in­tro­duce his work all around the world.

Rev. Thierry de Roucy is a re­cip­i­ent of the French Légion d’Honneur.
