October 23, One-Day Retreat:
The Mystery of Confession

Georges Rouault, Christ on the Cross

Join us for a one-day retreat on The Mystery of Confession. The inspiring writings and insights of the Swiss Mystic Adrienne von Speyr (1902-1967) guide us into a renewed understanding of this sacrament. In their utmost concreteness, where the Holy Trinity, the Cross and our daily lives prove deeply connected. Hans Urs von Balthasar regarded Adrienne’s theology of confession a major gift for the world of our time... It’s time we opened it.

Hosted by Father Thierry de Roucy, founder of Heart’s Home, this retreat will be given by father Paul Anel and Dr. Matthew Sutton- author a of a noted PhD dissertation on Adrienne von Speyr.

  • When: Saturday, October 23, from 10:15 am to 5:30 pm
  • Register online before Wednesday, October 20.

Possibility to stay overnight at the ICCC. For more info, contact Sr. Blandine.

"Purity and Confession are so close to each other because the two are one in the Cross. The Cross is the great, universal and definitive confession: the confession of all sins... The Son no longer put any distance between himself and sin, and laden with this sin as his own he goes to the Father. But that is confession. This horror comes to an end with the Father: in absolution the darkened soul glows in the grace and mercy of God."
