This September, I celebrated 16 years of mission with Heart’s Home, of which the last 6 were spent biking the streets of New York City from one studio to the next, happy shepherd to a flock of artists, doing my best to encourage and support those “who are passionately dedicated to the search for new “epiphanies” of beauty so that through their creative work as artists they may offer these as gifts to the world.” (John Paul II, Letter to the artists)
As you know, Heart’s Home is only made possible by the generosity of our friends. In the early years of my ministry, I was supported by French donors. However, my extended absence from my native country has caused this support base to progressively dry up. What’s more, my ministry “off the beaten track” does not grant me the resources usually available for priests (such as Sunday collections, etc.) I have therefore come to the conclusion that it is time for me to create a support base for my ministry here in the United States.
My monthly expenses amount to $1150/month: $600 cover basic expenses, from daily bread to metrocards and to phone bills ; $250 is the health plan that keeps me healthy and moving and another $200 is the subscription to my retirement fund (not that I plan to retire anytime soon, but, you know, you don”t really have a choice). As for the roof, it is graciously provided by the diocese of Brooklyn. That’s still a monthly $1150 to cover.
Please consider supporting my ministry to the artists of New York through a monthly donation: a) it will keep me going, and b) you shall receive every other month in your mailbox my “sponsor letter“, by which I will keep you updated on my ministry, artistic findings and spiritual insights!
A few things to bear in mind:
• donations are made through Heart’s Home USA, and are therefore 100% tax-deductible
• for a monthly pledge, tick and type “I want to contribute this amount every month(s)”
• write PAUL/ANEL under “volunteer information/FIRST NAME/NAME”
(ignore the “Email” box)
• no donation is too small (remember the “widow’s offering” of Mark 12:42)!
