On July 18th, Father Paul Anel - ordained priest on June 27 in France - will celebrate a Thanksgiving Mass at 10:30 AM at St James Cathedral, in Brooklyn, NY. You are welcome to join and celebrate with us! A potluck brunch will follow in the Cathedral Pavilion (across the road of the Cathedral).
It is father Paul’s wish that whoever wants to offer him something on the occasion of his priestly ordination may instead contribute with a donation to the Shrine to Our Lady of Compassion, to be built this summer at the International Center for a Culture of Compassion, and to be inaugurated in September.
It is a way for him to acknowledge Our Lady’s constant care and guidance on his long journey towards priesthood. From the favelas of Brazil where suffering cries out, to New York City and its hidden miseries and cries, Mary standing at the foot of the Cross taught him what it means to be present and to live compassion. May this small Shrine help people discover God’s constant love and care.
Among other ministries, Paul will keep reaching out, as a priest, to the artists. Being the world capital of culture, New York City is the place to be in order to reach out to the art community and reconnect it to the deepest human values, and to its divine horizon since, ultimately, every beauty points up towards God.
The Thanksgiving Mass will be streamed online:
