My name is Jonathan. I am from Jefferson City, Missouri. I am 18 years old and just graduated from Helias High School. After being accepted into my top colleges of choice, I wasn’t filled with the excitement that I was expecting. The feeling was one more of incompletion. I felt a call to do something bigger than myself. That is when I decided to defer my college acceptances for a year and dedicate a year of my life to service and compassion. After spending many, many hours doing research and looking at a ton of different programs, I came across Heart’s Home and I fell in love with every aspect of it. The thing that attracted me to Heart’s Home the most was reading “We are called to come back again and again to Golgotha where the Mother was standing at the side of her Son.” After reading this, I felt assured that this is where I belong.
I will begin my mission this July in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. I am very excited about being immersed in the Brazilian culture and becoming closer to Christ.
