The ICCC was founded in 2007 to support Heart’s Home worldwide effort to promote and infuse a “culture of compassion” into society at large.
The International Center for a Culture of Compassion is:
- a RETREAT open to anyone in search of silence and solitude
Located in the Catskills (2 hours North of New York City), the International Center for a Culture of Compassion offers an environment conducive to rest, reflection, healing, and contemplation.
The grounds, just enough removed from New York City and its daily din, encompass 125 acres of rolling hills, maple woods, a secluded pond, and breathtaking landscapes.
Throughout the year, the Center invites people of all religious backgrounds to benefit from the calm and beauty of the place, and from the hospitality of its warm and prayerful community.
- a CULTURAL CENTER to inspire and nurture
Guided by Heart’s Home members and its board of distinguished advisors, the International Center for a Culture of Compassion welcomes artists and people of all walks-of-life. On site as well as in New York City, the Center strives to nurture and inspire creativity through:
- Spiritual Retreats
- Art Exhibitions
- Individualized Residencies
- the HOME BASE of an international movement of compassion
The ICCC serves as the US formation center of Heart’s Home’s worldwide network of volunteers. Through training sessions and retreats, the Center offers initial and ongoing formation to missionaries active in 23 countries. Permanent members also stay at the Center on sabbaticals, to restore physical and spiritual strength for the mission.
