Grayson H. - Argentina 2010-2011

“Since God has first loved us (cf. 1 Jn 4:10), love is now no longer a mere “command”; it is the response to the gift of love with which God draws near to us.” Pope Benedict XVI, Deus Caritas Est

My name is Grayson. I am from the Detroit area in Michigan and I have just finished my studies in Philosophy at Boston College. During this last year of school in Boston, in my prayer, I felt drawn to the type of missionary work of Heart’s Home. The opening words of Pope Benedict’s first encyclical Deus Caritas Est seemed to express the restlessness in my heart to seek out such an opportunity. During the Come and See weekend, I was told that Heart’s Home is a “school of love.” I knew then that I had found the right organization.

My mission is in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I look forward to meeting my fellow volunteers and the Argentinian people while enriching my friendship with Christ in His school of charity.
