Come & See Weekend

 Aim: The Come & see Weekend is meant to en­able you to dis­cern whether or not God is call­ing you to join Heart’s Home in Mission.
You will be given the op­por­tu­ni­ty to go and vis­it the lone­ly and the sick and to get a bet­ter un­der­stand­ing of the charism of Compassion. You can come to ask all your ques­tions and share your hopes and fears.

 Where? At Heart’s Home John-Paul II in Brooklyn, NY or in San Francisco (In this lat­ter case please con­tact Father Gonzague).

 When? From Friday 6.30 p.m to Sunday 4.00 p.m.
If you can­not make it so ear­ly on Friday or if you have to leave ear­lier on Sunday, sched­ules are flex­i­ble. Please con­sult our Calendar or con­tact us to see when the up­com­ing Come & See week­end will be held.

 What do you need to bring? Just bring along your personal things and a Bible. Bed sheets, towels, meals and written material are provided.

 What will you be do­ing? You will fol­low the dai­ly life of the Brooklyn Community.
In the morn­ing, be­sides an hour of si­lent Adoration, you will be given talks on the three main pil­lars of our life, name­ly: Prayer, Community and Compassion.
In the after­noon you will go to vis­it peo­ple in the neigh­bor­hood or in a Nursing Home with one of the mem­bers of our Community.
The week­end al­so in­cludes a one-on-one in­ter­view to ex­plain what are your rea­sons for go­ing on a Mission with Heart’s Home.

 What will the next step be?
At the end of the week­end, we will let you know if we ac­cept or not your ap­pli­ca­tion as a Missionary. If you are ac­cept­ed, you will be given a two-week time of dis­cern­ment be­fore hav­ing to give your own an­swer. If you de­cide to vol­un­teer with Heart’s Home, you will be in con­tact with our staff that will help you out with all prac­ti­cal points such as spon­sors, pass­port and visa, vac­ci­na­tions, lan­guage and your send­ing forth mass. You will al­so have to at­tend a two-week Orientation Program hold in the Brooklyn Heart’s Home or in the ICCC.
