Only 3 weeks left before our Annual Gala!

The ’Leaders for Compassion’ Gala is Heart’s Home USA’s annual benefit, uniting leaders in business, politics and art to further the cause of compassion and human dignity.

Our awareness of the universal need for a compassionate friend goes hand in hand with the awareness of our need for a support to fulfill this crucial mission. The Annual Leaders for Compassion Gala becomes, thus, this concrete event we invite people to, in order to make a difference. By taking part in this event, people take part in our effort to faithfully accompany utterly isolated people from all backgrounds in Brooklyn and Manhattan; they support the activity of the Heart’s Home in Valparaiso, Chile; they help recruit and train American volunteers (15 of them this very year!) to go for long-term missions abroad; they help us organize events to bring a spirit of compassion to the artist’s community and to all sectors of society; they build, together with us, a center to develop and promote this culture of compassion.

This year, the recipient of the Heart’s Home Compassion Award is Irish painter Sean Scully.
When we first met him in his Chelsea studio in the Spring of 2010, he said : ’You and me, we do exactly the same thing’. As Heart’s Home strives to bring human warmth and support to the most isolated people, Scully’s work too, moved as it is by the tragic dehumanization of our contemporary world, is an attempt to raise up our culture, and to bring it back where it belongs, back to the human hearts.
