Adrienne von Speyr: a Mystic for Today

On September 17, 1967, forty-five years ago, the Swiss Catholic physi­cian and mystic, Adrienne von Speyr, died. Her life as a mar­ried woman with two step-chil­dren, as a gifted med­ical physi­cian, and as a spir­i­tual writer of many books has inspired many people to deepen their mis­sion of prayer and com­pas­sion. Dr. Matthew Sutton, from St. John’s University, is the author of a doc­toral dis­ser­ta­tion on Adrienne von Speyr. He shares with us his the­o­log­ical and per­sonal encounter with the Swiss mystic.
