Heart’s Home provides the opportunity for young Catholics from 21 to 35 years of age to volunteer for either domestic or international missions. They dedicate a minimum of 14 months to the service of suffering individuals in some of the world’s most deprived areas.
Since 1990, Heart’s Home has recruited and trained more than 1,300 young Catholic volunteers from 38 countries.
Heart’s Home’s international volunteers...
- Form personal relationships with people who are isolated from the community to better provide them individualized support.
- Act as a link between local services and charitable organizations and people in need so that they may find the best solutions to their particular problems.
- Welcome members of the community to the center for various activities. Each Heart’s Home is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Each center’s volunteers are deeply engaged with the poorest individuals in the neighborhood, welcoming them for meals and special occasions, hosting youth groups for children, and organizing a wide range of cultural and educational activities.
