10 years later: a true family, a true home

Aude, Constance and Philipine

By Aude H., first Heart’s Home Member to arrive in the States, upon visiting New York with her husband and kids.

For months, we had nurtured the dream to travel to New York to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Heart’s Home USA. When we boarded the New York -bound plane in Geneva on 18th October with our 2 elder daughters, our excitement was palpable.

What a momentous week it was! Every visit and encounter was an opportunity to witness how much Heart’s Home has grown, and give thanks to the Lord for the miracles he has done for and through Heart’s Home over the last 10 years.

We marveled at the work of the Heart’s Home in Brooklyn, at the beauty of the ICCC in its fall foliage, at the encounters with members of the Fraternity of St Maximilian Kolbe and with former and future American volunteers.

It was a gift to re-discover a city and a country we love through the eyes of our children, and share with them the treasure of the friendships we have kept throughout the years.

Above all, this was a time to give thanks for having found in Heart’s Home a true family, a true “Home” where we experience the sheer love & mercy of the Lord!
